In 2018 I considering buying a Dell XPS13 loaded with Ubuntu Linux, but went ahead with the Windows 10 version. I also had a desktop PC at this time that I was using for graduate school work (engineering CAD tools) in 2013-2017, and this basically cemented my switch back to Microsoft. In 2013 I bought a refurbished Asus* PC with Windows 7, and found it did the job, and decided to stick with Windows. In this time frame I bought a second MacBook in 2008, and I used it happily until Apple stopped offering updates. I left Windows 2000 to move to Mac OS X 10.4 on a PowerPC MacBook! While I had to give up PC games and CAD tools, I never really regretted the move for home use. I was primarily a MacOS user at home from 2003 to about 2013.
